Oh, sweet! You're awesome for this. I wonder if anyone has some sort of comprehensive timeline (either of specific events or actual tales) for this canon.
I rather like the idea of the Bloom being some sort of time-reset thing. The fact that it's an organism with temporal powers reminds me of the TARDISes, or the fungal Mimic Omega from Edge of Tomorrow, but it also makes a whole lot of sense for these once-worldwide apes, since we find no such evidence for such a widespread race (that would presumably have a more unified culture since they seem to be so advanced and more "as one" with nature). Previously, I found it way too unbelievable that an advanced civilization could've existed all across Earth within 15,000 years ago that mundane, non-Foundation/GOI paleontologists could've found, but since you say the greatest weapon used was the Bloom that resets the world, I can buy this all so much more.
So your canon, at least for SCP-1000 and the Day of Flowers, is sort of tied into the Djoric one, huh? So if the Bloom is a psychic plant growing on the universe (or multiverse?), and Djoric kind of has the Tree of Knowledge aka the Library being at the center of the multiverse and all Creation, would you say the Bloom basically like a tree moss/fungus of sorts?
Now Resurrection seems like a lot to read, but this Bloom stuff is a part of it?
I'm trying to get a grasp on at least an established Foundationverse cosmology and cosmogony for some of my own planned works and I rather like this cosmic tree motif and especially this displacement of time due to SCP-2000. I enjoy this kind of confirmation from you. Based on the things you've stated here, you're saying that SCP-1000 (I'll just call them Yeren as Djoric does) didn't exist in the "original" (at least the earliest one featuring humankind?) timeline, but came to be after one use of the Bloom (I'm assuming they used the Bloom themselves since the article refers to the Bloom as a Yeren technology) by… someone.
We wiped out 70% of SCP-1000's population in a single day. The Day of Flowers, the Children called it. Supposedly every flower bloomed that day, while our enemies died in their sleep. Then we hunted the rest down. But we went further than just killing them. With a few of the more twisted of SCP-1000's devices, we drove the survivors mad, even those hiding beyond our reach. We trapped them in their own minds, blocking higher functions and leaving their bodies to fend for themselves like any ordinary ape. We slaughtered their living machines and burned their vast shining cities with SCP-1000's bioweapons that reduced everything to slurry and dust that washed or blew away in spring rain and wind.
Was the Bloom the first or last thing used? It doesn't sound like it's the only thing used, but it basically allowed this human resistance to rewind time back quite a bit (from 15,000 years ago all the way to the Pleistocene, some 2 million years ago), right? Does this mean that these resistance folk basically traveled back in time and subjugated the Yeren (with a different technology) before they could've passed us in evolutionary advancement? (Actually reminds me a lot of how the SCP-1427 obelisk was designed by H. s. descensus (or Descensi as I call them) to subjugate proto/early humans.)
How did the Yeren come to be in the first place, I wonder, if they weren't in the "original" timeline? Most New Age UFO religions basically say that magical aliens mated with proto humans or earlier beings like the chimpanzee–human last common ancestor, so I can imagine that maybe the Yeren are the "true," to-be paranormal hybrids with incredible powers to subdue the Earth? Just an idea.
Do you have any actually identity planned for this "trickster forest god" or was that sort of an open-ended mystery? Yehom of 1348/1427 seems very Promethean with having done something horrible on humanity's behalf, basically betraying the anomalous race in charge (the Descensi, in that case), which does sound a lot like what this trickster forest god has done (except Yehom is based on the Jewish God, a concept that seems to have originated as a non-trickster desert/storm/sky god). I'm not sure if you've checked out 1348, 1427 or even 1115 and 1216 but I can see some things being somewhat compatible. Again, I point out: the Descensi's timeline is all over the place with them having existed at around the Pleistocene, except the 12 million year old SCP-1115, using the Descensus language, existed way before Descensus was supposed to have existed. It could be that the language existed long before the Descensi themselves, but SCP-1115 was an early warning system for nuclear attack, something which the Pleistocene Afro-asiatic Culture Group (many of whom were Descensi, the rest of whom were subjugated H. s. idaltu) were very worried about. Could be the work of the Bloom or 2000 or other reality-warping shit.
I dunno, maybe I'm trying to shove things together because really, SCP-2000 and the Bloom can explain and connect almost anything inconsequentially, but I do take note of the immense similarities between the human slave uprising against the Yeren and the Descensi, and it's one that I think could have some interesting results if the two are mixed. Tell me what you think, since you're the one with first-hand knowledge of what this SCP means. And if you have no plans for connecting these things, I'll probably do it myself. I just don't wanna really do something already being done by others (let alone great veteran writers like yourself).
I know these are a lot of questions and concerns, but feel free to also direct me to some specific pages that you think may help me out in understanding how this all went down. Thanks so much for responding and thanks in advance for anything you send my way. You're great!
