Small problem with the containment procedures: They talk about "interactions with SCP-1000" as though SCP-1000 might actually be sapient, but then later, it says that they have the brain capacity level of chimpanzees.
Hahahaha, is it still a problem if this on purpose?
But of course, Drewbear is right — there's no reason you can't have an interaction with a chimpanzee, and they are indeed sapient. :>
A lot of people found it surprising. A reader who pays close attention and has read other SCPs on the site should be able to predict it if they're paying close enough attention, but … the thing is, I also don't really pay that kind of attention to something on first read (I generally read things a couple times). So I tend to assume many other people are the same way, and will therefore be surprised by the twist (despite it being obvious in hindsight). Coz that's how I'd react. But it may be better served tweaked? Dunno. Hard to know…
